the day started with three of the adult leaders registering at the convention center. Afterwards, we took a bus and then the trolley to the Audubon Zoo. We visited the Louisiana swamp area, the Asian area, the primates where we were entertained by an orangutan infant. It was hot and humid but I think everyone had a good day. We joined other churches from the Central States for dinner and some zydeco music and dancing before the actual start of the Gathering at the Super Dome.
We were entertained by Agape, Peter Mayer, Rachel Kurtz and Roots of Music. We were welcomed to the Gathering by Presiding Bixhop Mark Hanson. We heard speakers Rev. Naia Bolz Weber and Rev. Yehiel Curry. It was a very powerful experience.
We have very little free time to reflect and blog. So bear with us!
